‘Ocean Deep, Ocean Wide’

The theme of ‘Ocean Deep, Ocean Wide’ explores our connection to whenua and moana, the impacts of pollution, and listens for God’s voice in the waves.

Our facilitator Silvia Purdie describes herself as a climate activist and pastoral theologian. She is an ordained minister, counsellor, author, and part of Eco Church NZ. Silvia encourages an ‘Eco’ spirituality which “holds together stillness and action, care for creation and worship of God.”

‘Ocean Deep, Ocean Wide’ is a time to rest in prayer and meet God at the beach. Meditation in a supportive community is insightful and restorative. Silvia Purdie and Annette Reinheimer will guide meditation and teach on ecology and faith
