Auckland Community Day 16 March 2024

Brother Lawrence and the Practice of the Presence of God

Venue: 24 Vermont Street, Ponsonby: The hall next to Sacred Heart Church.
There is parking behind and in front of the hall.

Date: March 16 2024

Time: 10am to 2.30pm

Our presenter Nicky Browne is looking forward to introducing us to Brother Lawrence, a Carmelite monk who lived in France in the 1600s. He is known as someone who understood the holiness available within the common business of everyday life. His invitations to us feel just as relevant today as they were 400 years ago. Using the wisdom and insights of Br.Lawrence, Nicky will explore how an awareness of God’s presence in our everyday lives can transform us in our time and place?

Nicky originally trained in nursing, with experience in Pediatrics and child and adolescent mental health. Her religious background is in various Pentecostal evangelical churches. She is a spiritual director and lives in Auckland with her husband and three children.
